Now more than ever, independent dealers need someone to advocate on their behalf with vendors.
We work with vendors to make sure our members get what they need. We leverage our relationships to get issues resolved quickly. Think of us as your number one advocate.
We’ve seen many vendors consolidate in recent years, which can make it more challenging to get answers quickly. Local sales reps have larger workloads and may not be able to provide the same level of service as in the past. When members call us for support, we get them front of the line service that they wouldn’t necessarily have access to otherwise. We also know that responsiveness to issues is critical as time is money, and jobs can be lost if you can’t get the information you need.
Another challenge for independent dealers in today’s world is unpredictable external factors, like market conditions, global pandemics, supply shortages, tariffs, international trade disputes, anti-dumping. These factors can impact many product categories. We take our role as an advocate seriously, and we spend time understanding how these dynamics affect our members.
We have a diverse membership, including LBMs, Truss, and manufactured homes for example. Not all members' needs are the same, and that’s why we offer programs that meet their unique needs. Our diverse membership base helps open doors with vendors to get them to respond quickly to issues and to help our members win projects. Our team invests the time to build influential relationships with vendors, and we will use it to our members' advantage.
